Lester Levenson's Amazing Story

"I was born July 19, 1909 in Elizabeth, New Jersey into a middle class family as a very shy person. I tried to do things the way they were supposed to be done -- doing the right thing, getting a good education, and being the best in my field. My natural inclination was towards science. Especially the science of the world, and of man himself. I graduated from Rutgers University in 1931 as a physicist, after which I worked 20 some years in physics and engineering.

"I also went into various businesses, including restaurants, lumber, building and oil, intertwined with engineering, wanting to make money-- wanting to make it in the world. At that time, I did not know what I now know -- that what I was seeking was actually the answers to life itself. And nothing that I had worked at would give me that answer. As the years went by, I became heavy with depression and with sickness. By 1952, I had been through constant illness -- I even had jaundice three or so times a year. I had an enlarged liver, kidney stones, spleen trouble, hyper and hypos acidity, ulcers that perforated and formed lesions, and to top it off, I had at least 10 years of migraine headaches.

"This all culminated in 1952 when I had my second coronary thrombosis."

"After the second coronary, I was told I would not live much longer -- that I might die any day and shouldn't make the effort to take so much as a step unless I necessarily had to. I was extremely fearful of dying, but I said to myself, "You're still breathing, Lester -- there is still a chance." So I sat down and began thinking on an "around the clock" basis. I had been considered a very smart boy. I always made the honor roll. I had been the recipient of a four-year scholarship to Rutgers back in the days when not many scholarships were handed out. But then being told after my second heart attack that I wouldn't live, I said to myself,

"Lester, you are stupid, stupid, stupid."

"Having lived 42 or so years, and having reached the end of the line without happiness, without health -- therefore all this knowledge you have accumulated is of no avail. I had studied Watson's behavior in the 30's and Freud's in the late 30's and early 40's. I had studied the philosophies. I had studied logic. I studied economics. I studied all the major fields of man, and with all that knowledge there; I was at the end of the line. This made me realize that...

"The Accumulated Knowledge of Man Was of No Use."

"So I decided to start from scratch. Forget all that knowledge. Begin from point 0 and see what you can pick up. So, I posed some pretty basic questions and asking myself what I really wanted out of life.

"I began to get some answers. Investigating further, I made some startling discoveries. And I started getting better.

"I began correcting all my thoughts and feelings in that direction. And in that process, I discovered I was getting happier, freer, lighter, and feeling better in general. I continued until all the ailments I had in my physical body corrected. All my miseries dropped away. And I ended up in a place in which I was happy all the time, without sorrow.

"Not that the world stopped pushing against me -- it continued -- but I was at a place where I could resolve things almost immediately. Having cleared out the negative fears, all the negative 'I can not's,' I would focus right on the answer to every problem, and get it very quickly.

And so,

My whole life turned around from being depressed and sick, to being happy and in perfect health all the time!

"One of the things that happened in this process was my identification with others. I saw that we are all related we are all inter-connected -- each mind is like a radio broadcasting and receiving station. That we are all tuned into each other unconsciously -- that we are just not aware of it. That life was meant to be beautiful... meant to be happy all the time with no sorrow. And to be with perfect health. And so after reaching that high point of understanding in 1952, I have wanted to help others to discover what I had discovered."

"I Believe If I Can Do It, Anyone Can Do It."

Over the remaining 42 years of Lester's life, he attracted thousands of students to his work - not because he spent time and money marketing his discovery, but because he was a living example of the possibility you and I possess when we learn to set our ego aside.

The reason so many of us fail to reach our goals is not due to a lack of effort.  It is because we produce in our outer world what we hold in our inner world.  If I desire more money, I reaffirm in my mind that I don't not "have enough", and it is lack that I create.

Positive thinking alone does not change this.  You must learn to release the associated feelings.  And when you do, you also learn to let go of the thousands of thoughts you have associated with the feeling.  This frees you to see more opportunity, to experience greater happiness regardless of outcomes and literally attract into your life what you want.

It is our desires, our wants, that prevent not only happiness, but our producing the results we seek in our life.

The results include:

* Less stress
* More financial abundance
* Deeper, more loving relationships
* Better health, wellness and vitality
* Career success
* Peace, happiness and more

Happiness and success in life have nothing to do with hard work, education or what you "have" to begin with.  Happiness and success are equally available to everyone when you learn how to "release" the blocks, the thoughts and feelings, of limitation you hold.  It is literally as effortless as holding a pen and letting it fall to the floor!

Don't take my word for it; Discover Lester's work, The Sedona Method, for yourself. Click here to order your free introductory tape and newsletter.

The Power of Positive Feelings

You feel powerful and strong. You feel an energy inside you that says "I am here to do something great!" You feel yourself walk into any situation, confident and at peace. You feel successful.

Ah, how good it feels!

Have you ever noticed that we ask each other, "How are you feeling today?" I have never met anyone who asked me, "How are you thinking today John?"

Why is this?

Perhaps it is because how we feel is how we live. If I feel miserable, my life reflects that misery. If I feel confident, then I act confident and I attract into my life that which I desire because I feel I deserve it.

In every moment, you and I feel something. And these feelings we have shape our destiny. Notice I write "these feelings we have". Feelings do not have us; we have feelings.

Most personal development focuses on thinking. Change your thinking and you change your life. I agree, but thinking arises from feeling. If I am holding tension in my body, if I feel tense, then my thinking is shaped by tension. And I react accordingly.

That tension is the result of accumulated thoughts and feelings. And the more thoughts that accumulate, the greater the tension (also known as stress) until ultimately I make myself ill; both physically and mentally.

Positive thinking is a great idea, but it has limitations, does it not? Can you tell me what your next thought will be? Not without thinking about it! And by the time you have come up with an answer your mind has already moved on to something else.

Plus all thoughts are found in the past. One cannot think in this moment. One can only experience this moment and it is this moment and the succession of this moment that make your life. Right now, plus right now, plus right now, equal your life and the results you create.

To make a change in how you experience and what you do with "right now" you must act on the feeling level to make true changes. And by changing how you feel right now, you change your destiny.

We all know of this power. It is a power we are born with that becomes discarded when we are told to stop feeling and start thinking. All limitations exist only in our thinking, yet that is exactly what everyone is telling us to do! Get an education and learn your limits!

If you have ever watched a young child develop, you will notice how they do not accept "no" for an answer. Failure does not stop us until we learn that failure means something bad. We then spend the rest of our life trying to reprogram our mind with clichés about how failure is the foundation of success, but do we really believe it? As children we fall, we hurt, we let the feeling go and we take off running again. As adults we fall, we hurt, and we tell stories about it for the rest of our life to anyone who will listen!

If you want to achieve a breakthrough in any area of your life, stop trying to reprogram your mind and notice how you feel. When you set a goal, notice the feelings that arise for you. Fear? Anxiety? Doubt? They are nothing more than feelings; electro-chemical impulses.

The good news? You can learn to let these feelings go and when you do, your potential has new life and it expands beyond the limits of thought. You feel a new energy when you realize all that prevents you from having all that you desire are these feelings which you have chosen to hold on to because you think, yes you think, they serve you in some way.

No analyzing is necessary, nor programming or re-programming, nor words; just feelings. Powerful feelings.

To re-learn how to access your natural ability to let go of any unwanted feeling discover the Sedona Method Course. Click here to order your free tape and subscription.

The Success Solution: How You May be Preventing Your Own Success

Recently I worked with a client who found himself in a couple of situations many of us have either experienced, or fear experiencing.  He called me, feeling down, frustrated and anxious about his future.  In the same week, he was laid off at work and experienced the end of a six-year relationship.  Ouch!

As we explored his situation, we discovered a couple of things.  First, he really didn’t like his job and it was not leading him towards the financial success he desired.  And second, the relationship that ended was an unhappy one for quite some time.  Yet, he wanted to hold on to both of them and felt upset over what had occurred.

You see, many of us find ourselves in similar situations in life.  We have something that isn’t quite what we want, but if we were to lose it great fear and insecurity arises.

Why?

There are two forces that drive your life and prevent you from really having what you desire: Attachments and aversions.

We become attached to what is comfortable for us; things that give us a false sense of having what we want; things that temporarily make us feel better for brief moments only to leave us feeling rotten later.  These attachments can include unfulfilling jobs, relationships that lack passion, bad habits such as smoking or overeating, and thousands of other possibilities.

Our attachments often prevent us from making the space in our life to have what we really desire.  If life is a buffet, we have our plates full of food we don’t really like meaning there isn’t any room for dessert.

Hanging on to that unfulfilling job for its false sense of security prevented this man from finding work he feels excited about doing - or starting a business of his own.  His attachment to the mediocre relationship prevented him from exploring new possibilities and meeting someone who really loved him, and someone he really loved in turn.

We he saw this for himself, his energy took a dramatic turn in the positive direction.  He saw new opportunity in his life instead of fear and loss.  This one simple realization could likely change the course of his entire life.

We also have aversions.  These are the things in life that feel uncomfortable to us.  It could be making an important phone call, or asking out someone we are really attracted to, or getting in front of a room and sharing our brilliance.  Aversions prevent us from moving forward, taking action and manifesting what we desire.  Aversions prevent you from acting on your immense potential.

What are attachments and aversions and how can we overcome them?

Attachments and aversions are nothing more than feelings.  Many of us say “I am frustrated”, but the truth is “I feel frustrated”.  I am having a feeling; I am not the feeling.

There is a wonderful technique called the Sedona Method that teaches a simple set of techniques that allow us to effortlessly “let go” of any unwanted thought or feeling - any attachment or aversion.  With these blocks removed, you will feel more confidence, more at ease and more willing to take the bold actions that produce success.

We can fight and struggle and force our way to success.  We really can.  I know.  I have done it.  But ultimately it is a hard, stressful, frustrating journey.  I think you know what I mean.

Or we can learn to easily overcome the resistance that creates a flow to life.  When we overcome our attachments and aversions, we become truly free to be, do and have whatever we desire.  It’s easy.  It really is.

I encourage you to learn more about any program that teaches you to “let go”.  It is the most powerful personal development tool I have ever learned.  My favorite program on the market is the Sedona Method course - the original and still the best program of its kind.  The link below offers a free newsletter to learn more, and you can also order a free introductory tape that includes a demonstration of one of the basic releasing techniques they teach.  I encourage you to experience this program for yourself and discover the exhilarating possibility of true freedom from your attachments and aversions.

Wishing you all the success and abundance you can allow into your life,

John R. Barker
