Below is one of her poems, which was
published in her second book, "True Emotions:"
Unknowing
We see in
each other
what we want
to see;
the truth is
hidden
too easily.
It's easy to
love
until the
first fight;
when the
unknowing
begins to
bite.
We refuse to
see
all that we
must;
we live in
delusions
thought fair
and just.
pretending we
have
something
good
while
settling, which
we swore we
never would.
Afraid to ask
for what we
need,
our hungering
soul
is unable to
feed.
Sacrificing
who we are;
how did we
let it get
this far?
Living
precariously
from lie to
lie;
too hopeless
to dream,
never daring
to try.
Not taking a
chance,
never
changing or growing;
sentenced
till death do
us part, unknowing.
