Randy Jernigan has been covering the comings and goings of the rich and famous for more than a decade from his official front-row perch on the battlefield of celebrity journalism.

A talented author, Randy infuses his work with a kind humor, warmth and a sence of fairness that has made him one of the most widely read journalists of his day.

Randy was born in El Campo, Texas, and raised in Milton, Florida. In 1980 Randy left Florida to serve a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Utah, and later studied creative writing at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Randy has freelanced for for many of the entertainment industry's most popular magazines, and has become well known for his interviewing skills. Randy is a regular contributor to such magazines as Star Magazine, The National Enquirer, Woman's World, McCall's Magazine, Celebrity Focus, and many others. Creative Team of Jernigan and McCloud Release Book About Love

The creative team of Randy Jernigan and Susan Evans McCloud have released a book of short stories that show the definite differences between man and woman.

The collaboration titled, This Thing Called Love; A Collection of Love Stories to Gladden the Heart and Warm the Soul, released through Writers Club Press, New York, has been referred to as the "Chicken Soup for the Lover's Soul."

"When my agent approached me about doing this sort of book," explains Jernigan, "about Love and the differences between the sexes--I jumped on the project. I'd been writing short stories forever--since I was a love lorn teenager. In my short stories love and relationships were always my topic." Jernigan explains that as a teen he had a weight problem. "Because of my size I could be just a little stand-offish with the opposite sex, so I would seclude myself in my bedroom late at night and churn out the fiction. I'd write about the way that I wished life could be for me--I was always the Knight in shinning Armour and always got the girl and I was always tall and handsome. I've found out since that a guy, or girl for that matter, doesn't have to fit that bill in order to find someone to love."

Susan Evans McCloud, Jernigan's co-author, also explained, "When Randy told me what the publisher wanted I was intrigued. I've never really published any short stories before and I thought the idea was fascinating--the mans point of view as compared to the woman's point of view--and all about love. I couldn't wait to get started," she said.

Jernigan, a popular freelance writer, has written for many of the entertainment industries best selling magazines including The Star Magazine, Rosie's, McCall's, Women's World, The National Enquirer, Celebrity Focus, and others, freely admits, "This is my first book, and I think there were times when I thought I'd never sit down and put together a full-length piece. My first priority has always been my journalism--that's the way I feed my family and I've always taken that side of my life very seriously. A lot of people ask me why I chose to write about celebrities. I tell them that I've always been a movie buff--a TV fanatic, if you will," referring to his by-lined column in the online magazine, TheTVFanatic.com, "and it just seemed to me to be the perfect fit. Now I'm reaching into a whole new genre--fiction is very different from what I do, although some might tend to argue the point."

Susan Evans McCloud has authored more than 40 books including novels, historic biographies of such noted Americans as the Mormon leader, Brigham Young, stage plays, and even lyrics for Church hymn books. Susan has written a screenplay of one of her best-selling books, "Black Stars over Mexico," which is currently in production with a major Hollywood studio.

The authors will be touring bookstores around the country in support of the book, as well as appearing on such nationally televised programs as C-Span's Book TV. The authors are also scheduled to appear on several local and national radio programs and will make several appearances at writers' conferences this year.
