Cindy Appel (aka Cynthianna Appel) describes herself as "a columnist, novelist, essayist, manuscript evaluator, book reviewer, and freelance writer--but not necessarily in that order and not necessarily on any given day." She also claims to be the mother of two growing girls, the wife of a computer whiz of a husband and the caretaker of one very hungry rabbit. She currently lives in St. Louis County, Missouri. The Fixer-Uppers, her first novel, is a November 2001 release from Wings ePress Inc. (http://www.wings-press.com). Her second contemporary romance, Country Boy, City Girl, will also be a Wings ePress e-book release in 2002.
Her award-winning online column, Every Day Is Mother's Day, can be found online at Miscellaneous Ramblings. Her articles and inspirational essays have appeared in over twenty-five online and print publications, including the first two volumes of the God Allows U-Turns series from Promise Press (Barbour Publishing, 2001). "The Nativity Scene at Easter" is in volume one and "Cyber Witness" is in volume two of the series.Her book and theatre reviewing skills once landed her an honorable mention in the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors contest for commentary/criticism. Some of Cindy's past lives have included stints doing casework for the Texas Department of Human Services, substance abuse counseling and working as a radio disc jockey. She has a degree in Psychology from University of Texas-Permian Basin. Long ago in a galaxy far, far away she studied film.
Cindy belongs to the Missouri chapter of the Romance Writers of America as well as the national RWA and the Dark Stormy Writers Group. She is a proud member of the Sweet Adelines International chorus, The River Blenders, where she sings bass. In church choir, she professes to be an "born again alto".
Known for her outrageous sense of humor and quick smile, Cindy is happiest when hiding behind her computer terminal typing her heart out and avoiding telemarketers' sales pitches.
