WRITE AT HOME NEWS
http://www.writeathomenews.com
We want unique perspectives in our stories. We want stories
about issues we all face, but written with a personal touch. If your story has
made you laugh, cry, or think about an issue in a different way - then, we want
to print and share it with our readers. 250-500 words. See theme listing. $30
pay.
ORION
A magazine about the issues of our time-how we live, what we value, what
sustains us. Published six times a year, it is a forum for ideas about creating
a healthy planet and healthy human communities. Orion publishes nonfiction,
short stories, interviews, poetry, reviews, and imagery related to this
exploration. Orion is meant as a lively, informative, and provocative dialogue,
and we look for compelling writing that connects readers to important issues. We
do not publish material that is academic or theoretical. Orion's feature
articles and departments are open to submissions from freelance writers. From
$400 to $1000 for feature-length articles. Payment is made upon acceptance.

"Laughing & Learning: Adventures in
Parenting"
Seeking true, heart-warming, funny stories
involving children,
especially if the stories can help children (or parents) learn something. For
example, the lengths parents will go to for their children: Once my son wanted
Power Ranger sandals so badly that I sat at work during my lunch hour and
colored Power Ranger stickers to put on a regular pair of sandals. Other
examples would be avoiding miscommunications, teaching your child to share or to
be aware of other people's feelings, learning to see the world through your
child's eyes, etc. 10% of the proceeds from this book will be donated to a
children's charity (the charity will be announced later, as that is still being
determined). Payment: $10 upon acceptance and one copy of the book upon its
publication. Word count should be 100 to 1000 words; but if you need more to
complete your story, we'll try to ! work something out. Buys one-time rights.

The publisher of the acclaimed book series A Cup of Comfort now sponsors several

about the people and events that bring comfort, joy, and meaning to our lives.

copy of the volume in which their stroy is published.
