CHICKEN SOUP'S LESSONS FOR LIVING - PAYS $300/STORY
Co-authors GEORGE LEBRUN and RUSSELL KAMALSKI are seeking
stories for the upcoming CHICKEN SOUP'S LESSONS FOR LIVING.
This book is a collection of stories that presents an
encouraging perspective on life -- lessons that encompass the
inspiration, strength, dreams, and wisdom every reader seeks.
The individual stories unleash the secrets of getting the
most from life, regardless of race, sex, religion,
generation, etc. The book will help illustrate and teach the
keys to living life to its fullest.

Writers should base their stories on one of the chapters
below:

Lesson #1 - Find Your Passion
Having passion in your life will help guide you. This lesson
sheds light on people who have searched and found their
ultimate passion, and how that passion impacts their lives at
work, play community service, and other areas.

Lesson #2 - Dictate Your Path
You need to acknowledge that you are responsible and
accountable for the choices in your life. The results from
these choices and experiences are part of creating your path
in life.

Lesson #3 - Challenge is Good
In order to grow, you need to reach and challenge yourself.
These challenges will allow you to expand your horizons,
learn and maximize your potential in life. Don't settle for
what's easy, go for the challenge.

Lesson #4 - Strengthen Your Body
Your body is your vehicle in life. It will take you where you
need to go. It must be nurtured, maintained, and cared for in
order to get you where you want to go. Keep your body healthy
and strong and it will reward you with many years of
fulfillment.

Lesson #5 - Keep it Simple
Life has become more complicated than ever, and sometimes, it
seems as if it is too difficult to keep up with everything.
This lesson reflects on the simplicity of life, and how under
all these somewhat complicated issues, there is a simple seed
that in most cases is no different than it was hundreds of
years ago. Peel the layers back and keep it easy.

Lesson #6 - Tradition of Family and Friends
This lesson is a traditional component of the life picture.
Life is not selfish. It is about togetherness and sharing
yourself with others - companions, friends, family,
associates, etc. This allows you to complete the picture and
keep a strong foundation in life.

Lesson # 7 - Keep Smiling
Research shows that a regular dose of laughter contributes to
long-term health and well being. This lesson is about the
importance of an optimistic outlook on life and seeing the
glass half-full rather than half-empty. Go ahead and
eliminate the negativity and look for the positive.

Lesson #8 - Persevere Through Adversity
Life will throw you roadblocks along the way. This is a
natural part of your journey. You can stop at the roadblocks,
or figure out ways around or through them in order to keep
moving towards your goals. These stories tell the lesson of
persevering and not giving up in order to achieve what you
want in life.

Lesson #9 - The World is Your Fishbowl
We all live in the same world and we need to recognize the
importance of treating others as we want to be treated,
contributing and improving our community, taking care of the
environment, and sharing and giving back our knowledge to
make the world a better place.

Lesson #10 - Tune In
In order to make changes and improve your life, you need to
understand where you are along the path. It's importance to
self-evaluate and tune in so you can make adjustments. "You
can't get to where you want to go if you don't know where you
are" - so don't be afraid to learn and find out about
yourself so you can improve and move ahead.

Lesson #11 - The Balancing Act
One of the most difficult challenges in life is finding the
correct balance of all the moving pieces. This lesson
stresses the importance of mixing work, family, pleasure,
etc. in a satisfying formula to deliver happiness.

If the story you wrote is published, you will be paid $300.00
upon publication of the story. Deadline for submissions is
December 15, 2002.
