Planned: an anthology of humorous stories from preschool and elementary school teachers.  Each story needs to be about 500-750  words.  The working title is "Faculty Funnies." Please do not use real

Annual William Allen Creative Nonfiction Prize

This annual competition honors the work of William Allen, the founding editor of The Journal. The William Allen Creative Nonfiction Prize offers $500 and publication of the winning essay in the upcoming issue of The Journal. 
All styles, subject matter, and forms are welcome.

All manuscripts will be considered for publication.
A reading fee of $10 should accompany each manuscript (make checks payable to: The Journal).
Every entrant will receive a copy of the issue of The Journal in which the winning essay appears.
The maximum word count is 6500 words.
Please double-space all entries.
