Wanted: True, compelling stories, 500-2,000 words, for a "FATE" anthology about how being at the right place at the right time, or not being at the wrong place at the wrong time, had a profound effect on your life. Our stories should leave the reader wondering, "Was that just a random coincidence, or was it meant to be?" Our New York literary agent is now offering the work in progress to publishers. Although we already have a number of wonderful stories, we still need more.

We ask for one-time use of the story, plus re-use in context of the book (excerpts, etc.), but all rights revert back to the author. It may be necessary for us to edit some stories. Stories should be sent as a cut and paste E-mail, not an attachment. Please include your home address and telephone number. Authors will receive complimentary copy of book as well as by-line and bio space.

WEYANT PRESS WANTS YOUR 'BLENDED FAMILY' STORIES! (Special thanks to reader RF for the heads up on this one)

Weyant Press, the home of quality books for blended families, is proud to announce plans for a brand new anthology that could only be produced by the "Original Blended Family Publisher!"

Tired of taking your mother-in-law to the salon, just after dropping your stepson off at his part-time job? Bone weary after chasing down your daughter-in-law's lipstick, which your father has just mistaken for a Popsicle? Then Weyant Press wants to hear from YOU! Blended families, steps, WOWs (you know who you are), Brady Bunch wannabes, and anyone and everyone living in a three-generation household is welcome to share their personal stories of tears, travails, tragedy, and especially triumph.

Make Mine a Dagwood: Stories from the Sandwich Generation will be a first-of-its-kind, hilarious source of comfort, solace, humor, and relief for that unique and particularly resilient bunch known as "the sandwich generation."

Editor Kim Ripley is the award-winning author of her own collection of blended family stories, Breathe Deeply: This Too Shall Pass (Booklocker.com, 2001). Now Ripley, the middle layer of a chaotic but loving "sandwich family" of her own, brings her unique creativity and years of publishing expertise to this bittersweet collection of heartwarming--and hilarious--tales.
