August Update
by Amy Jenkins

Anthologies Online is really off the ground now. Our subscriber base grows every day and our library of writers is very impressive.

WRITERS DO TWO THINGS
Read and Write. Start here and now.

I decided to add myself to the library of writers and included a previously published story: http://www.anthologiesonline.com/article1017.html. Guess what happened? Two editors have contacted me and requested a look at other manuscripts. Publicity, even on website that hasn't yet hit the major search engines, is always helpful. If you haven't applied for your free promotional page yet--add that to your "to do" list.

Now have I submitted to these editors yet-well no. I have a huge stack of projects to finish and ideas to explore. I also have submissions and queries to send. I also want to send news releases about anthologiesonline to publishing houses.

Do you have a to-do list something like that? Join me in taking out the calendar and scheduling ourselves time to achieve our goals. It may be important to have the vision of a becoming a sucessfull writer, or going on a book tour, but that vision won't be achieved without specific short-term goals and dedicated writing time.

Speaking of book tours-I just participated in my second book signing. I was lucky enough to have a joint signing with Eunice Loecher. We were both published in the Anthology, God Allows U-Turns. Ms. Loecher set-up the signing with the bookstore and we spend a lovely summer day in front of an "up north" Wisconsin bookstore. It was a wonderful experience.

Send in your announcements-we'll publish them as space allows.

*********************************************************** Would you like to see big name publishers sending calls for manuscripts, and scouring our library of writers looking for talent? As we increase our subscriber base, publishers, and editors will be eager to send us their calls for manuscripts. Please help us meet your needs by asking your friends to subscribe to AnthologiesOnline. ***********************************************************

As a subscriber, you get a sneak peak at the Writers Wanted listings that will be published September first. http://www.anthologiesonline.com/article1022.html. and more free classic literature. This time it's a longer story by an American author known for her gentle humor:http://www.anthologiesonline.com/article1026.html.

Our Library of Writers http://www.anthologiesonline.com/article1004.html has new authors including Jeff Stimpson and Nadia Ali. Let them know you saw them on AnthologiesOnline.

What Do Women Want? / What Do Men Want?

Anthologies Online asks the impossible question. We are planning a series of anthologies. The first to be announced is the What do Women Want? What Do Men Want? series.

Your editor is looking for smart, funny, angry, touching, spiritual, or academic essays from 500 to 3,500 words based on what each gender wants from a mate. We want different voices of different ages and cultures to explore this topic. Please write from only one point of view (What Women Want or What Men Want) per essay.

View a sample essay at Commentary: Relationships
What (do) Women Want in From Men./?
Use your own original voice. Send your best work with "Relationship Anthology" in the subject line to Submit to What Women Want / What Men Want
