Read and Write. Start here and now. I decided to add myself to the library of writers and included a previously published story: http://www.anthologiesonline.com/article1017.html. Guess what happened? Two editors have contacted me and requested a look at other manuscripts. Publicity, even on website that hasn't yet hit the major search engines, is always helpful. If you haven't applied for your free promotional page yet--add that to your "to do" list. Now have I submitted to these editors yet-well no. I have a huge stack of projects to finish and ideas to explore. I also have submissions and queries to send. I also want to send news releases about anthologiesonline to publishing houses. Do you have a to-do list something like that? Join me in taking out the calendar and scheduling ourselves time to achieve our goals. It may be important to have the vision of a becoming a sucessfull writer, or going on a book tour, but that vision won't be achieved without specific short-term goals and dedicated writing time. Speaking of book tours-I just participated in my second book signing. I was lucky enough to have a joint signing with Eunice Loecher. We were both published in the Anthology, God Allows U-Turns. Ms. Loecher set-up the signing with the bookstore and we spend a lovely summer day in front of an "up north" Wisconsin bookstore. It was a wonderful experience. Send in your announcements-we'll publish them as space allows. *********************************************************** Would you like to see big name publishers sending calls for manuscripts, and scouring our library of writers looking for talent?
