The title is THEIR MYSTERIOUS WAYS and it will include true stories about the miraculous impact of animals in our lives. Many of you have already written stories for our best-selling series, LISTENING TO THE ANIMALS, and we hope you will be inspired toparticipate in this project. Surely, if you have known, loved and been loved by an animal, you know that their special mission is to bring us closer to God and his love for us. Very often we can't explain their ability to comfort us, guide us, and even heal us, but we accept their blessings with a grateful heart. Has the companionship of an animal lifted your spirits in a time ofsadness? Has the love and trust of a pet helped you to turn your life around? Has your faith been strengthened by the example of an animal? Has an animal made you aware of the joy to be found in each day of yourlife? Write us about your experiences. The deadline for submission of these stories is December 15, 2001. If your story is accepted, you will be paid and receive a copy of the book when it is published. The journey, the quest,the road tale/movie has for ages immemorial fascinated writersand film makers and been the consistent backbone of the art ofthe narrative, from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales to modernexponents such as Alex Garland's The Beach. Participants in this anthology will have the honor of beingpublished alongside such notables as Jack Kerouac (On The Road),John Steinbeck (The Grapes of Wrath), and Hunter S. We wish to reflect the experience of caregiving from the perspectives of spouses, adult children, professional caregivers and from those receiving care. It is our hope that this anthology will: raise awareness of the needs of caregivers; recognize the gift that caring brings to their loved ones and to society; and empower and support caregivers. I plan to compile these works over a year's time and publish them as a collection in both e-book and physical form (if possible). Anthology Submission Requirements Work must be submitted in either Word, HTML, or text format. There is no specific length requirement, but considering that this is an anthology of many authors, we don't want one dominated the entire book. I'd recommend that longer works be no longer than 10,000 words. We are attempting to cover ALL aspects of the men's movement in some form or other. That means you have a wide range of topics to choose to write about. Because we don't want everyone writing about the same topic, it would be wise to submit your topic idea to me before you begin writing or submit your work. After all works have been collected, they will be judged for inclusion by a yet-to-be-determined team of judges. The final work will be co-edited by myself and Steve Imparl. You will retain the copyright on any work you submit to us. We only ask permission to edit your work for mistakes and clarity, and for the rights to publish it in this anthology and any future revisions or redistributions of this anthology. There is no guarantee of financial reward for your work in this anthology. It's a labor of love for now. If it does end up turning a profit, we will distribute those profits equally among the authors. All works will be given equal consideration. We do have a couple of really big names who have expressed an interest in contributing to this anthology. However, we will not be judging works on name recognition or value. Works will be judged on their relevance to the overall topic of masculism and quality of writing.
