NEW ANTHOLOGY PLANNED What Do Women Want? / What Do Men Want? Anthologies Online asks the impossible question. We are planning a series of anthlogies. The first to be announced is the What do Women Want? What Do Men Want? series. Your editor Amy Jenkins is looking for smart, funny, angry, touching, spiritual or even academic essays from 750 to 3500 words based on what each gender wants from a mate. We want different voices of different ages to explore this topic. Please write from only one point of view (What Women Want or What Men Want) per essay. 70% of any advance will be split among the contributors. View a sample essay at http://www.athirdperson.com/article1022.html. Please be aware that we are seeking essays in many different voices. Send your Submission with "Relationship Anthology" in the subject line to OnAnthology@aol.com. Anthologies Online: where editors, writers, and readers converge - http://www.anthologiesonline.com/ Advice, commentary, news, and humor from a third person - http://www.athirdperson.com/ On April 1, 2002, DreamHaven Books (http://www.dreamhavenbooks.com) will celebrate its 25th anniversary. To mark this occasion, we will publish a deluxe original anthology celebrating books and bookstores. We are looking for stories of 2,000 to 8,000 words which feature a bookstore as a major element of the story, not just as a setting or a passing reference. We would like to show the importance of the bookstore and its influence upon the characters and the situation. Stories can be Science Fiction, Fantasy or Horror. We are publishing a deluxe hardcover edition of approximately 1,000 copies which will be numbered and signed by all contributors. Payment will be $.10/word, payable on acceptance. We will ask you to sign approximately 1,000 signature plates for our edition. We had intended to publish our own trade edition, but there has been sufficient interest from some of the major publishers so that once some names are attached to the project, we will shop it around in an attempt to get a wider audience. A separate royalty will be paid if/when a sale is made. Deadline is Oct. 1. This will allow us time to commission art for some stories, get signatures and design the book for an April 1, 2002 publication date. We want quality fiction, and will consider any genre. Looking to encourage new writers. Submit stories electronically in text only or Microsoft Word format, as an attachment with cover letter in e-mail, to Fiction Editor, TabeaZine@yahoo.com. WANTED: YOUR LETTERS TO THE GROOM! A new anthology aimed at inspiring the GROOM before, during, and after his wedding day needs your nonfiction 'letters' to the lucky guy! Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, bridesmaids, groomsmen, old college buddies, neighbors -- BRIDES-TO-BE -- anyone with advice for the groom is welcome. Writers (and not-so writers) interested in sharing their wisdom, humor, and insight with the lucky fellow should write it up in letter form. For instance, a mother could write her son with advice on how to treat a lady. A father could recall fond remembrances of his wedding day. The bride could write a "thank you" letter for becoming a part of her life. A brother could write a letter expressing his pride in the lucky guy. A former teacher, a roommate, a coworker, a boss, an ex-girlfriend, all of these and more surely have something to say to the groom -- so why not say it here! Compensation for this proposed anthology includes a copy of the book, generous byline, and promotional author bio. I already have an agent and several interested publishers based on a killer proposal, now I need actual content for the book! 'Letters' don't have to be real, just things you might want to say to a past, recent, or future groom. For instance, if you already have an inspiring, humorous, or edgy 'story' centering on a groom, a bride, or a wedding, why not slant it or rewrite it in letter form. This is intended to be a source of wisdom, humor, and inspiration for one nervous fellow, and I'd like to cover as many of the bases as possible. Send your inspiring 400-800 word 'letters' in the body of an Email (no attachments, please) to the editor at Freelancer86@aol.com. Looking forward to reading your letter today!
