Don't Let Go of the Dream

I find the more I write, the more inspired I get. Thoughts, feelings, ideas, poetry and story lines seem to flow the more I do it. Often times, writing helps me to gain perspective on myself. I read my work and come to know a part of myself better than I did before.

When I submitted a piece to the new inspirational book series entitled, ""God Allows U-Turns." ," published by Barbour Publishing, Inc. under the Promise Press imprint, I hoped to be published, but knew the chances were slim. Thousands of submissions were coming in from all over the world. However, I didn't let go of the dream. I said to myself that I had the same chance as everyone else and I visualized it happening.

I knew I had something positive to contribute to the world; a message of hope. When you believe in your work, it helps to keep the dream alive.

I was both delighted and stunned when I was contacted by author and founder Allison Gappe Bottke by mail and was told that my story was under consideration. I waited in great anticipation to see if I would be one of the one hundred stories selected for Volume 2.

I am both happy and proud to say I will appear in Volume 2 of "God Allows U-Turns" which will be out in October/November of this year.

I still cling to the dream, continually submitting pieces to them that I think are relevant to upcoming volumes in the series.

Just because I was blessed enough to have it happen once doesn't mean it can't happen again. It can happen to all of us.
