Ingersoll 25th January is Burn's Night and an important part of any Burn's Supper, in the middle of the gathering is the Immortal Memory Speech. In 1878, Robert Green Ingersoll gave a brilliant speech in honour of the memory of Robert Burns and I am proud to present it here on our Robert Burns Scotland site. If you are looking for a speech for your Burn's Supper, you could easily adapt this one for your own alloted time, but, although it is long, I felt it should be published in its original form because it is such a lovely piece of work.
