six times a year, it is a forum for ideas about creating a healthy planet and
healthy human communities. Orion publishes nonfiction, short stories,
interviews, poetry, reviews, and imagery related to this exploration. Orion is
meant as a lively, informative, and provocative dialogue, and we look for
compelling writing that connects readers to important issues. We do not publish
material that is academic or theoretical. Orion's feature articles and
departments are open to submissions from freelance writers. From $400 to $1000
for feature-length articles. Payment is made upon acceptance. Orion purchases
first North American serial rights.
Redbook and Cup of Comfort
announce
the co-sponsorship--the topic is love!
All of the stories submitted thus far for A Cup of Comfort for
Couples will be automatically included in the contest (unless you
send us an email instructing us otherwise). We will
continue to accept new submissions for the contest/book through
April 20, 2010.
Adams Media, the Cup of Comfort publisher, will award one $1,000
grand prize as well as three runner-up prizes of $150 each. The grand-prize
winner and runners-up will also receive a full run of all
Cup of Comfort books, including A Cup of
Comfort for Couples. The remaining stories selected for publication in
A Cup of Comfort for Couples will receive the standard $100 stipend, plus a
complimentary copy of the book.
