NWR has long been a champion of the previously-unpublished writer, artist, photographer, poet, as well as the experienced creative professional. We actively seek previously-unpublished original poetry, short fiction, non-fiction (personal essays, critiques, and book reviews), photographs, and original artwork. Contributors whose work has been accepted for publication need to provide a short biographical sketch and a photograph of themselves for each issue's Contributor's Page. However, we don't need or desire this information when your work is submitted. We judge your work on its merits, not where you've been published in the past. The central factor behind NWR's success has been the litzine's communal culture, and the professionalism exhibited by the site's editors and panelists. Many of NWR's editorial staffers have been involved with the litzine since its founding period, and those who arrived later brought many years of experience in commerce, publishing, academia, and the artistic community. As a non-profit publishing organization, we are unable to offer contributors a monetary stipend. However, in exchange for allowing us to post your material for one year, we will aggressively promote your work, and treat you with dignity and respect. Nevertheless, courtesy is expected from both sides. Contributors who respond promptly to e-mail queries, respect submissions deadlines, and conduct themselves as professionals have a better chance of being published in NWR than individuals who don't. _______________________ Our submissions guidelines are organized by department, and offer constructive advice about what NWR's editorial panels expect from contributors, and what information should be included in all documents submitted to our site. Welcome to the New Works Review, a literary magazine edited with zeal for passionate contributors and readers worldwide. Submissions Index Short Stories: Our short story board is one of the toughest in this business. If you're published here, you have definitely arrived. http://www.new-works.org/ Submissions Deadlines Issue April-May-June, 2002 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Have you ever had the feeling that your long departed grandmother was watching over your children? Do you have recurring dreams of loved ones who have passed on? Have you ever caught a glimpse of someone you've lost to death across a crowded room? Has an old lover sent you roses from the great beyond? Are there unexplained noises, appearances or scents in your home? Quilldipper is compiling true stories of Spiritual Visitations in the creation of a book that I know will touch the lives of others. This anthology will undoubtedly bring a few tears as we share stories of our loss but it will also spread smiles of joy in helping others to believe that our loved ones are still with us, in spirit. Spiritual Visitations is currently being shopped around to find the perfect publishing match. In the meantime, we are open for submissions. Possible chapter categories: SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Unpublished material is preferred, but we will accept material for which the Author owns all rights and that has been previously published or is pending publication in a serial publication (magazine, newsletter) or online. Simultaneous submissions are accepted. If the story is subsequently selected, the Author must at that time disclose any other pending publication of the story.
